FAQs

When should I arrive?

You should be flying from Singapore on 30 September 2025, arriving in Rovaniemi on 1 Oct to maximise your trip.

What should I bring?

In September and October, the temperatures vary between +15°C and -5°C.

During your stay with our resort, you’ll soon learn that the weather in Lapland has a mind of its own. So remember to bring warm clothes especially for our trips out in the night when the temperature drops.

Do I have a chance to see Northern Lights?

Rovaniemi and Lapland altogether are some of the very best spots in the whole world to spot the Northern Lights. The location of our resort is pitch perfect for this – far from the light pollution of the city yet easy to reach from Rovaniemi city or Rovaniemi Airport.

You can spot the Northern Lights on the night skies from September to April – and we chose the perfect, ideal dates to travel there where the northern lights are supposed to be the most active.

As the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, we can never fully guarantee that they’ll be out on the skies, but the location of our resort surely offers you great chances of spotting them when they do appear.

Are there any physical limitations in taking part on the activities?

For most of the activities, anyone with a moderate fitness level can participate. There are, however, some exceptions – kindly note that husky tours are slightly more strenuous activities and require an average fitness level.

As safety is our main priority, due to bumps on the tracks and carbon monoxide from the snowmobiles pregnancy is a limitation in taking part on dogsledding.

In case you have physical conditions (such as a recent hip surgery, heart condition, pregnancy, etc.) that might limit your participation on the activities, it is very important that you inform us of these in advance so that we can ensure your safety.

When joining an activity including huskies / horses / reindeer, do we get to drive the sleds ourselves?

A professional reindeer herder will always guide the team of reindeer, allowing you to sit back and enjoy the ride.

Also, on the horse sleigh ride tours, it is the guide responsible for controlling and guiding these majestic animals.

On some of the husky excursions, your sled/carriage will be driven by a guide; on most tours you’ll get to mush your own team – a responsibility not to be taken lightly but at the same time the adventure of a lifetime.

What kind of food is available?

The style is traditional Finnish food with a modern twist. The resort's menu is built around the use of local ingredients such as fish, berries, and meat. Ofcourse we would recommend bringing some cup noodles or milo cause thats the best food during cold days.

What flight should I take?

First Light suggests flying with Finnair, departing from Singapore on 30 September and arriving in Rovaniemi on 1 October (preferably around 1–2 PM). If you'd like assistance with flight bookings, we’d be happy to help. For those considering extending their holiday, we recommend exploring Europe before or after our itinerary to make the most of your trip. Domestic flights within Europe are generally quite affordable, so you could easily plan a pre- or post-trip to cities like Berlin or even London.

How does rooming works?

Each villa features 2-3 rooms, with 2 guests per room. Room assignments will be finalized and shared with you 3 days before the trip. If you’re traveling with friends and prefer to stay in the same room or villa, please let us know in advance.

For igloo cabins, you will automatically be paired with your travel companion when you purchase twin room.

Entertainment?

It's always a great idea to bring along some books/card games/boardgames etc

When must I make the full payment?

Full payment has to be made 90 days before departure date. (30 June 2025)

Can I get a refund after booking?

Unfortunately, we won't be able to refund the deposit and it will be taken as a cancellation fee.

When does booking close?

Booking for this trip will close in Mar 2025 as there is a high demand, we will need to book the activities and accommodations as soon as possible.
